Category Buyer – Transportation & Transit

About the role

We are seeking a Category Buyer specialized in Transportation & Transit to lead sourcing and category management across fleet, logistics, mobility services, and related contracts. You will shape category strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure reliable, cost‑effective supply solutions that align with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with operational and financial goals.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities, including NDA, RFI, RFQ, RFP, tender evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service level agreements, and contracts.
• Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, safety, and service.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, operations, finance, engineering, and legal stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, supplier risks, and industry developments.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks through contingency planning.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance requirements.
• Track spend, savings, supplier performance, and sourcing outcomes.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, industrial engineering, logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, fleet, or industrial sectors is preferred.
• Proven track record in complex sourcing and commercial negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of contract management and supplier performance.
• Professional certifications such as CIPS or CSCP are a plus.
