Chief Accountant – Financial Reporting & Assurance

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the finance function, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting in line with IFRS. This senior position works closely with the CFO, the Board Audit Committee and external stakeholders to uphold robust accounting policies, governance and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, guaranteeing compliance with IFRS and timely delivery to shareholders.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, financial governance frameworks and internal controls.
• Lead statutory financial audits, coordinating effectively with external auditors.
• Monitor compliance with the Common Terms Agreement and all financial covenants, including DSCR and liquidity metrics.
• Manage debt service obligations and support major financing initiatives such as working‑capital renewals, hedge rollovers and refinancing.
• Provide financial oversight of key commercial contracts (PPA, SWPA, offtake, O&M) and advise on contractual amendments.
• Prepare and present financial reports, business plans and updates to the Board Audit Committee and shareholders.
• Maintain strong relationships with shareholders, lenders, auditors and advisors.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and ensure continuity of finance leadership during CFO absences.
• Develop and oversee the finance team to sustain capability and resilience.

Required profile

• Proven ability to oversee financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
• Experience leading statutory audits and managing external auditor relationships.
• Track record of ensuring compliance with financial covenants and financing agreements.
• Strong understanding of commercial contract financial implications.
• Demonstrated experience presenting to boards and senior stakeholders.
• Capability to act as a senior finance advisor and ensure continuity of leadership.
