Design Engineer – Power Distribution

About the role

The Design Engineer will create power distribution product solutions and applications that meet customer specifications and international standards while optimizing cost and maintaining quality. This position is based in Riyadh’s 2nd Industrial City and works closely with customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Study project inputs, specifications and related documents, request clarifications and prepare technical submittals.
• Prepare and issue base and detailed design submittals in line with customer specifications and technical offers.
• Respond to customer comments, revise drawings and ensure design optimisation using alternate or slow‑moving inventory materials.
• Select electrical components, generate BOMs and issue electrical shop drawings for MV/LV substations and switchgear (package, unit, panel boards, distribution boards).
• Address QC defect reports promptly and update final As‑Built drawings after testing and inspection.
• Contribute actively to departmental targets and goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
• 2‑4 years of experience in MV/LV substation and switchgear design.
• Strong knowledge of IEC and IEEE standards and SEC distribution specifications.
• Ability to read and analyse electrical single‑line diagrams, load schedules and manufacturer data.
• Understanding of busbar and cable sizing, heat‑dissipation estimation and basic control‑panel/PLC wiring.
