Director of Security and Safety

About the role

Four Seasons is looking for an experienced and proactive Director of Security to oversee safety and security operations at its new hotel in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, steps from the Prophet's Mosque. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will ensure a secure environment for guests, employees and hotel assets, lead the security team, implement security protocols and oversee emergency response. This is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily security operations and the safety of guests, staff and property.
• Lead, train and manage the security team, ensuring adherence to security policies and procedures.
• Develop, implement and regularly update security protocols, emergency procedures and risk management strategies.
• Carry out regular security audits and inspections to find vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents and security breaches.
• Manage surveillance systems, review footage and report on incidents.
• Ensure security policies are followed during events, meetings and guest activities, and collaborate with other departments during large events or high-risk situations.
• Assess the security of access points, parking areas and public spaces.
• Prepare reports on incidents, daily activities and department performance metrics.
• Manage the department's budget, staffing and equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice or a related field.
• Proven security management experience, including a supervisory role, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of security protocols, emergency response and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in crises.
• English proficiency.

Required skills

• Familiarity with security systems, surveillance tools and incident reporting software.
