Resident Construction Engineer - Architect

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Resident Construction Engineer – Architect to lead the architectural aspects of construction projects. The role combines on‑site monitoring with administrative oversight to ensure that all works are executed in line with approved designs, budgets, schedules, quality standards, safety and environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor multiple contracts and architectural field activities, ensuring compliance with scope, procedures, cost, schedule and quality.
• Oversee building facades, envelope systems, exterior and interior finishes, architectural detailing, accessibility and code compliance.
• Coordinate architectural elements with structural, MEP and landscape systems.
• Implement QA/QC programs, safety regulations and environmental specifications on site.
• Provide technical clarifications to contractors and review job plans, method statements, inspection and test plans, material submittals, shop drawings and as‑built drawings.
• Supervise contractor performance, conduct inspections, document findings and report discrepancies.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress, cost and quality reports and advise senior engineering staff on schedule or quality issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in construction monitoring and architectural supervision on large‑scale projects.
• Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility standards and contract administration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and maintain professional relationships with contractors.
