Strategic Government Affairs Leader

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a senior professional to shape and lead its government engagement strategy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role will align the company’s objectives with national priorities, Vision 2030 initiatives, and evolving regulatory frameworks, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive government engagement strategy aligned with corporate objectives and Saudi Vision 2030.
• Monitor regulatory, legislative and policy developments across ministries such as MOH, SFDA, MIM, MISA and NUPCO, and advise senior leadership on risks and opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with high‑level stakeholders including ministers, regulators and government‑affiliated institutions, and represent Medtronic in official meetings and forums.
• Lead policy advocacy initiatives, produce white papers, position statements and recommendations, and work with legal and compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate executive‑level engagements and advocacy messaging, and travel up to 30‑40 % within Saudi Arabia.

Required profile

• Minimum 84 months (7 years) of experience in government affairs, regulatory strategy or related fields.
• Deep understanding of Saudi Vision 2030, national healthcare priorities and the regulatory landscape of the Saudi medical sector.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on political and policy matters.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the Kingdom.
