Accountant – Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting (IFRS)

About the role

This position is responsible for executing and monitoring daily accounting operations with a specialized focus on fixed assets, lease accounting, and intangible assets. The role ensures accurate financial recording in line with IFRS and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Record journal entries for all financial transactions and ensure alignment with supporting documents and accounting standards.
• Perform bank reconciliations and month‑end account balance reconciliations.
• Review expenses and revenues for proper classification and maintain organized transaction records.
• Set up lease contracts in Dynamics 365 Asset Leasing, calculate present values, recognize right‑of‑use assets and lease liabilities, process lease payments, and manage monthly depreciation/finance cost runs.
• Track expiring contracts, post renewal accruals, and coordinate lease data with the Commercial Expansion team.
• Manage the asset lifecycle in Dynamics 365 Fixed Assets, including capitalizations, CWIP monitoring, transfers to active assets, depreciation/amortization schedules, and impairment reviews.
• Post month‑end asset journal entries, run depreciation/amortization batches, prepare roll‑forward schedules, and support monthly/annual closing and financial statement preparation.
• Provide data for internal and external audits and follow up on facility payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• SOCPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 2–4 years of general accounting experience, with exposure to fixed assets or lease accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with Dynamics 365 (Fixed Assets and/or Asset Leasing modules).
• Working knowledge of IFRS 16, IAS 16, and IAS 38.
