Barge Engineer

About the role

The Barge Engineer will supervise and coordinate all marine activities aboard the rig, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency. This role is critical for maintaining equipment, managing stability, and supporting complex rig moves and lifting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise safety, environmental, and firefighting equipment, as well as lifting, rig moves, and jacking system operations.
• Perform stability and ballast calculations, monitor daily loading, and ensure compliance with design limits.
• Coordinate rig move preparations, including weather monitoring, soil condition review, and equipment readiness.
• Manage watertight integrity checks, mooring winches maintenance, and towing equipment certification.
• Oversee hull and tank maintenance, helicopter operations, and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of rig moves, stability data, and equipment certifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years (72 months) of experience in marine or offshore engineering.
• Strong understanding of marine safety standards, rig move procedures, and stability principles.
• Ability to work on‑site in offshore environments and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
