Consultant – Pediatric Hematology & Oncology

About the role

The Consultant in Pediatric Hematology & Oncology will deliver expert clinical care to children with blood disorders and cancer, ensuring high‑quality treatment aligned with hospital policies and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality patient care in pediatric hematology and oncology, including inpatient and emergency consultations.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records, ensuring eligibility and competency documentation.
• Participate in on‑call service, responding within hospital‑defined timeframes.
• Conduct daily rounds, coordinate discharge planning and write discharge orders at least 24 hours in advance.
• Deliver academic duties such as orientation, bedside training and supervision of interns, residents and fellows.
• Engage in departmental educational activities, national and international conferences, and continuing professional development.
• Contribute to clinical, basic and translational research projects in accordance with the Research Advisory Council policy.
• Undertake administrative tasks assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman and participate in mandatory departmental activities.

Required profile

• Graduation from an accredited medical school with completion of specialty/sub‑specialty training.
• Arab or American Board certification, and membership or fellowship status in the United Kingdom and/or Canada (or equivalent).
• At least seven (7) years of post‑graduate experience in pediatric hematology/oncology.
• Eligibility to practice in Saudi Arabia and adherence to hospital bylaws, rules and policies.
