Contracts and Claims Lead

About the role

The Contracts and Claims Lead will support the implementation of NIT’s Contract and Claims Management strategy in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This senior position is responsible for preparing, administering and monitoring main contracts and sub‑contracts, ensuring proper governance, risk management and protection of the company’s financial entitlements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure contract management activities comply with client objectives, policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
• Administer awarded contracts timely and manage all contractual correspondence, including notices, disputes and claims.
• Identify risks proactively, manage changes and lead the preparation of variations to preserve NIT’s rights.
• Lead dispute and claim resolution, collaborating with clients, engineering, technical and project management teams.
• Oversee payments certification, variation administration and claims management.
• Assign tasks to subordinates, review their work and conduct weekly review meetings to monitor change orders, claims and extensions of time.
• Act as the focal point for the Contract & Claims department and ensure implementation of the contract manual across stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Law; postgraduate qualification in Construction Law preferred.
• Minimum 8–13 years of experience in contracts and claims within construction or infrastructure projects.
• 5–7 years in a senior or lead role handling complex contractual and claims matters.
• Professional membership such as MRICS, MCIOB or a recognized engineering/claims institute is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contract forms.
• Expertise in contract administration, claims handling and dispute resolution.
