Design Manager – Engineering Discipline Lead

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a senior Design Manager to provide overall managerial and technical leadership for a major engineering discipline on large, complex programs in Saudi Arabia. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure delivery quality, and support business development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery on projects exceeding $250 million in total installed cost.
• Review and approve staffing budgets, resource plans, and workforce forecasts.
• Monitor quality, progress, productivity, and technical performance across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Directors to resolve staffing, schedule, and technical delivery issues.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, technical manuals, and best practices.
• Recommend improvements to department workflows, technical standards, and delivery methodologies.
• Provide technical oversight for complex engineering issues, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience (≈20 years) leading large engineering disciplines or multidisciplinary functions.
• Proven ability to manage staffing budgets, resource allocation, and workforce planning.
• Strong track record of monitoring and improving quality, productivity, and technical performance.
• Experience working closely with project leadership to address delivery challenges.
• Capability to develop and enforce engineering standards and best practices.
