Director, Power & Utilities

About the role

The Director, Power & Utilities will be the top technical, financial and operational authority for the uninterrupted supply, transmission and strategic distribution of electrical energy across a major city footprint. Reporting to senior leadership, this executive will guide the transition of high‑voltage networks from construction to live operations while ensuring grid resilience and alignment with national sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic operation, asset integrity and preventive maintenance of HV, EHV and MV substations, transmission lines and distribution networks city‑wide.
• Serve as the principal liaison with national electricity companies, water and power authorities, and ministry officials to negotiate bulk power purchase agreements, tariff structures and long‑term load allocations.
• Oversee the hand‑over of massive high‑voltage electrical networks from construction teams to operational teams.
• Drive grid resilience initiatives, high‑load asset management and industrial automation programs.
• Ensure compliance with national sustainability frameworks and protect multi‑billion‑dollar infrastructure investments.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of distinguished experience in power utilities, including high‑voltage network operations.
• Proven leadership in large‑scale infrastructure projects and stakeholder management.
• Strong financial and operational acumen with a track record of delivering reliable, resilient grids.
• Ability to work closely with government bodies and industry partners.
