Environmental Specialist

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm active in architecture, mobility services and sustainable infrastructure, is hiring a full-time Environmental Specialist in Riyadh. The specialist supports infrastructure projects by analysing their environmental aspects, preparing permitting documentation and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse environmental aspects of infrastructure projects under development
• Prepare documentation for environmental permits, approvals and authorisations, including project presentation reports, technical documentation, environmental studies and environmental sections of design documentation
• Identify potential environmental impacts and propose prevention, mitigation or compensation measures
• Assess technical solutions from an environmental protection perspective and support design teams on applicable requirements
• Take part in site visits and field surveys, and cooperate with environmental experts, consultants and competent authorities
• Monitor compliance with permit conditions and follow up on the status of permits and approvals
• Participate in meetings with clients and permitting authorities, respond to clarification requests and inform management and project teams of legal requirements
• Propose compliance measures and process improvements, prepare technical reports and ensure environmental documentation is recorded, filed and archived

Required profile

• Technical degree in a relevant field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• English language proficiency
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, accuracy and integrity
• Ability to take responsibility and maintain confidentiality

Required skills

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is considered an advantage
