Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will act as the financial custodian of Basiqat Resort, a remote property within the Mantis Collection. Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with regional finance leadership, you will ensure robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective control environments in a pre‑opening or early‑stage resort setting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare management accounts and performance analyses for senior leadership review, ensuring data integrity and compliance with group standards.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts, partnering with department heads to align costs and revenue.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets, explain variances and provide insights to commercial teams to drive profitability.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on finance professional with experience in hospitality or resort environments, preferably during pre‑opening or early operational phases.
• Proven ability to work closely with senior management and regional finance teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting principles.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ability to design, implement and monitor internal control frameworks.
