Freelance Quantum Research Scientist (Python)

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Quantum Research Scientist with strong Python skills to design and develop computational physics problems for AI testing projects. This remote, project‑based role supports leading tech companies in evaluating and improving AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design original computational physics problems that mirror real research workflows.
• Create Python‑based problem sets using NumPy, SciPy, and SymPy.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within days or weeks.
• Develop challenges across mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Base tasks on genuine research challenges or practical physics applications.
• Validate solutions with Python and standard physics simulation libraries.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in research, applied work, or teaching.
• Strong written English (C1+).
• Creative thinking and ability to design problems that reflect real scientific workflows.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• NumPy, SciPy, SymPy.
• Experience with physics simulation libraries.
• Numerical simulation methods.
