Heat Treatment Operator

About the role

The Heat Treatment Operator supports heat‑treatment operations on gas‑turbine components, ensuring processes are executed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The role combines hands‑on technical work with Lean manufacturing practices to continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform heat‑treatment operations according to approved work instructions, process specifications, and engineering requirements.
• Read and interpret work instructions and quality forms to guarantee correct process execution.
• Record and maintain accurate process and measurement data.
• Operate heat‑treatment equipment, furnaces, fixtures, thermocouples, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect parts before and after treatment to verify conformance with quality standards.
• Follow Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, safety, and efficient line flow.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with 5S standards.
• Apply Lean principles daily, identify improvement opportunities, and support waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Participate in problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action activities.
• Use shop‑floor systems such as ELM and SmartShop as required.

Required profile

• Diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 0–3+ years of experience in a technician, manufacturing, heat‑treatment, or industrial role.
• Experience with diffusion heat‑treatment processes is preferred.
• Experience with solution and aging heat‑treatment processes is preferred.
• Familiarity with gas‑turbine components or precision aerospace/industrial parts is a plus.

Required skills

• Operation of heat‑treatment equipment and furnaces.
• Use of fixtures, thermocouples, and hand tools for heat‑treatment processes.
• Inspection of components to ensure quality compliance.
• Recording and managing process and measurement data.
• Use of shop‑floor software systems (ELM, SmartShop).
