IBM API Connect & DataPower Developer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IBM API Connect & DataPower Developer to design, develop, and manage API solutions using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway. The role involves creating secure, high‑performance APIs and integrating them with enterprise systems. You will collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver end‑to‑end integration projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy APIs using IBM API Connect.
• Configure and manage IBM DataPower Gateway services.
• Implement API security policies, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Develop RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise API performance.
• Gather requirements from business and technical teams and deliver integration solutions.
• Participate in system testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise integration and security standards.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with IBM API Connect.
• Strong experience with IBM DataPower Gateway.
• Experience with REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, XML, JSON and XSLT.
• Knowledge of API security protocols such as OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS and API‑Key authentication.
• Experience with API lifecycle management.
• Understanding of integration architecture and middleware concepts.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Preferred: experience in banking, financial services or enterprise integration projects, IBM certifications related to API Connect or DataPower, and Agile‑environment experience.
