Indirect Tax Manager – Advisory

About the role

KPMG Middle East is seeking a senior professional to lead its Indirect Tax engagements across the region. The role combines technical tax expertise with client‑facing responsibilities, ensuring compliance and delivering advisory services for complex domestic and international transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to indirect tax inquiries from internal teams and clients, providing clear guidance on regulatory requirements.
• Plan, manage and lead indirect tax engagements, including M&A, compliance, audit defence and cross‑border transactions.
• Review and refine work produced by junior staff to ensure accuracy and high‑quality delivery.
• Draft technical positions, ruling requests and notices of objection for complex tax matters.
• Conduct detailed technical analyses, identify liabilities and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with a diverse client base, from private enterprises to large public organisations, tailoring solutions to their needs.
• Support business development by partnering with colleagues to attract new indirect tax clients.
• Develop and deliver presentations and training sessions on indirect tax topics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 6–7 years of dedicated experience in indirect tax.
• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of indirect tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience drafting technical tax positions, ruling requests and objection notices.
• Strong analytical abilities to perform technical tax analyses.
