Instrument Technician III

About the role

KBR is looking for an Instrument Technician III in Al-Jubail. The role ensures that instrument assets remain reliable and available so that process units can keep operating. It also leads, supervises and coordinates the maintenance team for instruments, equipment and facilities within its area of influence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the daily maintenance activities of the instrument maintenance team, acting as the focal point for the daily execution plan.
• Ensure maintenance follows standards, specifications, safety procedures, manufacturer recommendations and contract terms.
• Carry out onsite maintenance and repairs on instruments such as generators, transformers and motors.
• Execute monthly and weekly maintenance plans, follow up on progress and submit regular progress reports to the instrument foreman.
• Keep records of daily maintenance work against planned programmes and prepare work completion reports.
• Assist in engineering modifications and enhancements to instrument equipment by recommending improvements to suitability and serviceability.
• Conduct frequent site visits to check that work is properly executed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2-4 years' experience in oil and gas maintenance, with a diploma or bachelor's degree.
• Proven leadership skills in large organisations and maturity of judgment under pressure.
• Ability to achieve business results in a multi-cultural environment.
• Good command of spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing instrument systems and mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
• Good knowledge of instrument equipment design, installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of standards, procedures and regulations for health, safety and environmental protection.
• Technical understanding of oil and gas facility maintenance management.
