Trainee - Improvement Process

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Trainee - Improvement Process in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The trainee supports the Continuous Improvement team in driving operational excellence through Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen and process improvement methods. The role develops technical, analytical and problem-solving skills and contributes to productivity, quality, delivery, cost and safety improvements. It is full-time, on-site and closely supervised.

Key responsibilities

• Support Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen and operational excellence projects, and identify improvement opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and support functions
• Conduct process mapping and value stream mapping, identify waste and bottlenecks, and support standardized work and process optimization
• Collect and analyze operational data, build dashboards and KPI tracking tools, and maintain project trackers and improvement databases
• Take part in structured problem solving using PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto and A3 methods, and help investigate root causes and implement corrective actions
• Support Lean awareness training, Kaizen events, Gemba walks and workshops, and promote continuous improvement and employee engagement
• Maintain project records and lessons learned, and help develop work instructions, SOPs and best practices
• Ensure compliance with company quality, safety and environmental requirements and with applicable external and internal regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Software engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field
• Fresh graduate with basic knowledge of continuous improvement projects, data analysis and reporting, problem solving and documentation
• Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic
