Nuclear Engineering Director

About the role

The Nuclear Engineering Director will report to the Chief Technical Officer and lead the Owner’s engineering oversight for a new nuclear power plant during the pre‑EPC and EPC phases. The role acts as the central point for all technical deliverables, ensuring that design, procurement and construction meet nuclear safety, regulatory and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor outputs with Owner licensing and regulatory expectations.
• Evaluate EPC bidders against the Bid Invitation Specification and draft contract requirements to select the preferred bidder.
• Oversee the EPC contractor’s nuclear and conventional engineering activities throughout the contract execution.
• Manage technical interfaces between the Owner, EPC contractor and external infrastructure providers.
• Prepare and support the transition from EPC delivery to operation and hand‑over phases.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of experience in nuclear engineering or large‑scale power plant projects.
• Proven track record in EPC contract management and technical oversight.
• Strong knowledge of nuclear safety standards, licensing processes and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing vendor relationships.
