Senior Account Manager

About the role

APCO is seeking a highly driven Senior Account Manager to be fully seconded within a high‑profile government entity. This client‑facing, strategic position requires strong advisory abilities, deep knowledge of media and digital landscapes, and the capacity to translate complex technical topics into compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of strategic communications plans aligned with the client’s overarching goals.
• Serve as the daily advisor on media positioning, engagement strategy, and high‑impact storytelling opportunities.
• Craft executive messaging, press releases, thought‑leadership pieces, speeches, briefing notes, media responses and stakeholder materials.
• Support reputation management and media relations by identifying opportunities, securing coverage and managing journalist relationships.
• Ensure communications outputs align with national strategies and maintain consistent narrative and brand positioning.
• Coordinate with digital and creative teams to deliver integrated campaigns across traditional and online platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in strategic communications.
• Robust understanding of the regulatory landscape in the region.
• Proven ability to build media and government stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving abilities.
