Senior Director of Sports Stadium Design

About the role

Qiddiya Investment Company seeks a Senior Director of Design to lead the creation of world‑class sports stadiums within its entertainment destination in Saudi Arabia. The role combines strategic vision, multidisciplinary team leadership, and a focus on innovation, sustainability and fan experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and architectural vision for stadium projects, ensuring alignment with Qiddiya’s strategic objectives and brand identity.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary design teams, including architects, engineers and specialist consultants.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering and operations to deliver integrated designs that meet performance, safety and regulatory standards.
• Drive innovation in fan experience, accessibility, sustainability and technology integration.
• Oversee coordination with external stakeholders, contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure design compliance and timely delivery.
• Manage design budgets and schedules, optimizing resources to achieve project goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in large‑scale sports stadium or venue design within commercial real estate or sports infrastructure.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams on complex design projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of stadium design principles, building codes, safety regulations and sustainability standards.
• Strong project management, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Experience working in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia is an advantage.
