Senior Instrument Technician – Jubail

About the role

The Senior Instrument Technician will support instrumentation activities throughout construction, commissioning, and maintenance phases at a petrochemical plant in Jubail. The role ensures reliable, accurate, and safe operation of all instrumentation systems while adhering to company standards and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot field instruments and control valves.
• Read, interpret, and modify P&IDs, loop diagrams, specification sheets, and hook‑up drawings.
• Maintain and diagnose transmitters (pressure, flow, level, temperature) and control system components.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and machine monitoring systems such as Bentley Nevada.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on gauges, analyzers, and related equipment.
• Ensure compliance with permit‑to‑work, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Use and maintain instrumentation tools, fittings, and testing equipment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute projects and maintenance tasks efficiently.

Required profile

• Diploma in instrumentation or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an instrument technician in the petrochemical or oil & gas sector.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver high‑quality results.

Required skills

• Instrumentation installation and calibration.
• Troubleshooting of transmitters and control valves.
• Reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, and specifications.
• PLC troubleshooting.
• Bentley Nevada machine monitoring systems.
• Understanding of control system logic (open loop, closed loop, safety overrides).
• Use of instrumentation tools and testing equipment.
