Stock Controller Team Leader

About the role

The Stock Controller Team Leader will oversee the entire stock control function, ensuring inventory accuracy and optimal levels across the organization. You will lead a dedicated team, implement best‑practice processes, and collaborate with multiple departments to support smooth warehouse and distribution operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, train and mentor a team of stock controllers to achieve high performance and compliance with procedures.
• Develop and implement stock control processes that improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct regular stock audits, investigate discrepancies and report findings.
• Utilise inventory management systems to monitor stock levels and generate analytical reports.
• Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, sales and other departments to ensure product availability and support sales initiatives.
• Manage stock movements—including receiving, storage and distribution—while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Identify trends, recommend optimisation actions and report on key stock‑related KPIs.
• Work with suppliers to schedule replenishment and maintain positive relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in stock control or inventory management, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of stock control principles and best practices.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Experience with inventory management software and systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
