Wet Utilities Engineer - Airfield

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Wet Utilities Engineer to lead the design, construction, and commissioning of water, firefighting, storm‑water, sewage and drainage systems on a major airport airfield project. The role combines on‑site supervision, technical coordination and quality assurance to ensure all works meet aviation authority standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise on‑site installation of potable water, firefighting networks, storm‑water drainage, sewage and irrigation systems.
• Verify that all works follow approved drawings, method statements and technical specifications.
• Coordinate sequencing with subcontractors, civil, pavement, MEP and utility teams to avoid clashes.
• Manage inspections and testing activities such as pressure testing, leakage testing, flushing, chlorination and CCTV inspections.
• Prepare daily progress reports, inspection records, test documentation and as‑built drawings.
• Liaise with authorities, consultants and third‑party inspectors for approvals and inspections.
• Support resolution of non‑conformances and implementation of corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in wet utilities works on large‑scale infrastructure or airport projects.
• Proven ability to work in active airfield environments and manage utility diversions, connections and tie‑ins.
• Strong understanding of local authority standards, aviation regulations and HSE requirements.
