Commercial Head – Maintenance Contracts

About the role

The Commercial Head will lead all contracting activities that enable the Maintenance Department to execute refinery maintenance projects through external contractors. Reporting to senior management, you will shape scopes of work, manage tender processes, and ensure contracts meet KBR’s high standards for safety, quality, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed scopes of work for maintenance activities during normal refinery operation.
• Prepare evaluation criteria, perform preliminary cost estimations, and draft Instructions to Bidders.
• Coordinate kick‑off meetings with contractors, evaluate technical and commercial offers, and award contracts.
• Ensure HSSEQ policies, QA/QC requirements, and KPI targets are embedded in all maintenance contracts.
• Oversee contract administration, cost control, and budget compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in contracting, preferably in the oil & gas or refinery sector.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong understanding of bidding processes, contract administration, and cost control.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities in multicultural environments.
• Excellent communication, judgment under pressure, and strategic thinking.

Required skills

• SAP system proficiency.
