Consultant Dermatologist

About the role

The Consultant Dermatologist is responsible for delivering the highest standard of clinical care in dermatology, overseeing patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up within a hospital or clinic setting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned dermatology clinics according to the approved rota.
• Admit and treat patients within granted privileges, performing initial assessments, investigations, and establishing diagnoses.
• Prescribe medication, therapies, and procedures, and monitor patient progress.
• Document and maintain complete medical records, authenticate entries, and review junior staff notes.
• Perform privileged diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and approve discharge summaries.
• Provide on‑call coverage, attend Code Blue and other emergency codes.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of specialists, residents, nurses, and allied staff.
• Contribute to policy development, quality improvement programs, and serve on hospital committees.
• Uphold Islamic values and medical ethics in all patient interactions.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with a specialization in dermatology.
• Licensed to practice and authorized privileges for dermatology procedures.
• Experience in hospital or clinic settings, including on‑call duties.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Ability to lead a department and supervise multidisciplinary teams.
