Consultant IVF

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IVF Consultant to join our obstetrics and gynaecology department. The role involves delivering high‑standard clinical care, diagnosing and treating patients requiring in‑vitro fertilisation and related reproductive services, and contributing to continuous quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned IVF clinics according to the approved rota set by the Medical Director.
• Admit patients within granted privileges and conduct comprehensive initial assessments, investigations, and diagnoses.
• Prescribe and administer appropriate medications and therapies, and clearly explain procedures and treatment plans to patients and their families.
• Monitor patient progress, perform re‑assessments, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Conduct daily rounds for admitted and referred patients, ensuring complete and accurate medical records.
• Review and validate documentation of junior medical staff, approve discharge summaries, follow‑up plans, and medical reports.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for which the consultant is privileged.
• Provide on‑call coverage, respond to Code Blue and other emergency situations.
• Lead the department when required, supervise multidisciplinary teams, and serve on hospital committees.
• Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, Islamic values, and medical ethics.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with specialist expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology and IVF.
• Authorized to admit patients and perform IVF‑related diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Experience in managing clinic schedules and supervising multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to be on‑call and participate in emergency codes (e.g., Code Blue).
• Commitment to adhere to hospital policies, clinical pathways, and medical ethics.
