Controls & Governance Consultant – Cards Function

About the role

The Controls & Governance Consultant will act as the first line of control for card products, ensuring operational discipline, regulatory compliance, and accurate customer‑facing information. This senior role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to influence stakeholders to maintain high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the internal accountability point for governance within the cards team, enforcing standards and procedures.
• Review partner and vendor reports to validate regulatory, contractual, and operational compliance.
• Monitor contractual timelines, flag expiring agreements, and coordinate renewals or closures.
• Oversee telesales scripts and operations for consistency with product documentation.
• Ensure websites, apps, and other customer‑facing channels display accurate, up‑to‑date information.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures for card business functions.
• Audit marketing and product collateral to remove obsolete or conflicting content.
• Review contracts, agreements, and business cases before escalation to leadership.
• Collaborate with product managers, operations, telesales, and external vendors to align practices with compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• 8–10 years of experience in governance, compliance, or documentation management, preferably in financial services or payment products.
• Strong ability to review and interpret contracts, partner agreements, and operational reports.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive and persistent personality capable of balancing control responsibilities with strong working relationships.
