Core Shed Supervisor – Mining Operations

About the role

The Core Shed Supervisor will lead the core shed and sample management activities for the ERD Gold unit at the Mansourah‑Massarah mine. You will ensure that diamond core, RC samples and geological materials are received, processed, tracked, stored and dispatched safely and in line with company standards for QA/QC, chain‑of‑custody and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily core shed operations, coordinating receipt, cutting, sampling, photography, SG/density testing, storage and shipment of cores and RC samples.
• Maintain accurate sample tracking, inventory control and documentation using approved spreadsheets, databases and digital file systems.
• Monitor QA/QC performance, sample turnaround times and laboratory issues, escalating deviations as needed.
• Plan and assign work for core shed technicians, balancing priorities of geologists, drill programs, laboratories and logistics.
• Ensure safe operation and regular inspection of core shed equipment, forklifts and lifting devices, and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, participate in safety inspections and reinforce stop‑work procedures.
• Train, onboard and coach technicians on sampling protocols, equipment use, data recording and safety requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between geologists, drilling contractors, laboratories, couriers and site support functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Science or a related geoscience discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in core shed operations, geological sampling, drilling support or related roles.
• Proven supervisory or team‑lead experience in a technical, exploration or mining environment.
• Strong understanding of diamond core and RC sample handling, QA/QC procedures and chain‑of‑custody controls.
