Data Governance Expert

About the role

The Data Governance Expert will support the implementation and enhancement of Specialized’s data governance practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards. The role focuses on data architecture, classification, lifecycle management, Identity and Access Management (IAM) and open data initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of enterprise data architecture aligned with business objectives and stc Group standards.
• Monitor and track KPIs related to NDMO and PDPL maturity, identify gaps and drive improvement actions.
• Contribute to implementation and maintenance of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) framework, policies and controls.
• Implement data governance policies, standards and guidelines in line with stc Group directives and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain data governance documentation in centralized repositories.
• Support data classification and lifecycle management, including retention, archival and secure disposal.
• Execute and coordinate open data management activities: dataset identification, preparation, publication and updates.
• Conduct quality reviews of published open data and metadata to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Monitor open data activities, applying privacy and data protection controls to meet national classification and privacy requirements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align open data publication priorities with transparency objectives.
• Promote data governance and open data awareness in collaboration with the Data Governance Council.
• Identify opportunities to improve data governance practices based on regulatory changes and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Management, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in data governance, data architecture or related domains.
• Fluent English proficiency.
