Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

About the role

Alfanar Engineering Services is looking for an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead HSE initiatives across its Riyadh operations. The role will ensure compliance with Saudi regulations, client requirements and ISO 45001 while fostering a proactive safety culture in electrical and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and continuously improve the company’s HSE Management System at all sites.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian HSE legislation, MHRSD, Civil Defence, environmental rules, client specifications and international standards.
• Lead HSE planning and control for high‑risk activities such as high‑voltage works, energisation/de‑energisation, testing & commissioning, lifting, work at height, confined‑space entry, excavation and heavy‑equipment operations.
• Oversee Permit‑to‑Work, Lockout/Tagout and isolation procedures, and provide technical HSE support to project, engineering and maintenance teams.
• Conduct inspections, audits, walkthroughs and contractor performance monitoring.
• Lead incident investigations, develop corrective actions and communicate lessons learned.
• Prepare HSE KPIs, dashboards, performance reports and management review presentations.
• Coordinate training, competency assessments and emergency response drills.
• Promote environmental protection through waste management, spill prevention and pollution control initiatives.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of HSE experience in electrical engineering, EPC, substations, testing & commissioning or industrial operations.
• NEBOSH certification and proven ability to lead HSE programs.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian HSE legislation and ISO 45001.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
