Hatchery Operations Manager

About the role

The Hatchery Operations Manager will oversee all daily activities within the hatchery to ensure efficient egg setting, incubation, hatching and chick handling. This role is responsible for meeting production targets while maintaining high standards of bio‑security and animal welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and control egg setting, incubation, hatching and chick handling processes.
• Maintain optimal hatchability, chick quality and achieve production targets.
• Monitor and adjust hatchery equipment, temperature, humidity, ventilation and other critical parameters.
• Implement and enforce strict bio‑security, hygiene, sanitation and disease‑control measures.
• Supervise, guide and evaluate hatchery staff, ensuring effective manpower utilization.
• Maintain accurate records of KPIs such as egg setting, hatchability, mortality and wastage.
• Coordinate with breeder farms, poultry farms, quality, maintenance and logistics teams.
• Identify operational issues, investigate production losses and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience in hatchery or poultry operations management.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science or related field.
