IBM Safer Payments Developer

About the role

The IBM Safer Payments Developer / Implementation Consultant will design, configure and support IBM Safer Payments solutions for enterprise‑level fraud detection and prevention across banking and payment channels. The role combines technical integration, rule development and machine‑learning model configuration to deliver real‑time fraud monitoring while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain IBM Safer Payments solutions in banking and financial services environments.
• Develop real‑time fraud detection rules, scenarios and machine‑learning models for cards, digital banking, instant payments, wallets and open‑banking transactions.
• Integrate Safer Payments with core banking platforms, payment gateways, card management, AML, CRM and enterprise data services using APIs, event‑streaming and middleware.
• Configure fraud case‑management workflows, alert prioritisation, escalation processes and investigation queues.
• Produce executive dashboards, KPI reports, false‑positive analysis and regulatory reporting outputs.
• Perform system, integration and performance testing, support UAT, deployments and post‑production support.
• Troubleshoot incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Fraud Operations, Compliance, AML, Payments, Cybersecurity, Risk and Technology teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or related field.
• IBM Safer Payments technical certification.
• Professional certifications such as ACAMS, CFE, CAFCP, CISSP or equivalent are a plus.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fraud management, financial crime prevention or related domains.
