Infection Control Specialist

About the role

The Infection Control Specialist supports NMC Hospitals and Clinics by developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive infection control program. The role serves as a resource for clinical, administrative, and support staff to ensure safe patient care and a healthy work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds in all departments to monitor infection control practices.
• Collect and maintain data on nosocomial infections, generate reports, and forward them to the Infection Control Supervisor and Chief of Medical Staff.
• Perform continuous surveillance, take swabs of high‑risk areas, and investigate infection sources.
• Deliver educational programs and training sessions for staff on infection prevention measures.
• Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings and report any barriers to implementation.
• Collaborate with CSSD staff on sterilization procedures and ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian standards, JCI, and CBAHI.
• Assist with licensing and accreditation survey preparation.
• Educate patients and families about infection prevention as part of the patient‑family education policy.

Required profile

• Trained professional with experience in hospital infection control.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian health regulations, JCI and CBAHI standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
