Learning & Development Specialist

About the role

The Learning & Development Specialist will design, deliver, and continuously improve competency‑based training for Maintenance personnel. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, HSE, HR and subject‑matter experts, you will ensure that employees have the technical skills needed for safe and efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) with department leaders to identify competency gaps.
• Develop and deliver classroom sessions, practical workshops, field coaching and structured on‑the‑job training (OJT) programs.
• Create and maintain technical training manuals, presentations, SOP learning guides and assessment packages.
• Design competency‑based curricula, qualification pathways and succession‑planning learning tracks.
• Administer competency assessments, verify employee competence against defined standards and support re‑qualification processes.
• Maintain accurate learning records and support employee qualification and authorization procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in learning and development, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to analyse training needs and translate technical documentation into effective learning material.
• Excellent collaboration skills to partner with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, HSE and HR teams.
• Detail‑oriented approach to maintaining learning records and competency data.
