Market Curation Editor (Culture)

About the role

We are seeking a Market Curation Editor (Culture) to join an emerging social‑predictions platform. Based in Saudi Arabia, you will act as the human quality layer that reviews system‑generated cultural prediction markets, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and ready for publication.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily queues of automatically generated culture markets against strict deadlines.
• Validate factual accuracy, clarity, relevance, and resolvability using authoritative sources.
• Align opening and closing times with the underlying cultural event (e.g., broadcast, release, ceremony).
• Determine cultural relevance and timeliness, rejecting technically correct but irrelevant markets.
• Apply community standards, escalating sensitive cases involving privacy, health, minors, grief, or unverified allegations.
• Approve, edit, or reject markets while documenting structured reasons for each decision.
• Rewrite questions and resolution criteria for precision, fan‑oriented language, and appropriate terminology.
• Create timestamped clarifications during live markets and handle settlements lacking data feeds.
• Conduct proactive gap scans across social platforms, fan communities, and entertainment media to discover missed cultural moments.
• Monitor breaking developments, trends, major releases, and awards activity.
• Participate in calibration reviews to maintain consistency with guidelines and team decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in entertainment journalism, editorial work, social/community management, or a related field.
• Deep, current knowledge of U.S. entertainment and culture, including TV, film, music, celebrities, fandoms, and emerging trends.
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to navigate rumors, shifting release dates, and sensitive topics.
