Operations Supervisor (Exploration Drilling)

About the role

We are looking for an Operations Supervisor to lead on‑site exploration drilling activities. The role ensures drilling operations are planned, executed and reported in line with project schedules, budgets and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily drilling activities, plan operations, ensure correct rig set‑up and alignment for various formations.
• Monitor drilling performance, penetration rates and core recovery to optimise efficiency and troubleshoot technical issues such as stuck rods or fluid loss.
• Lead drilling crews, provide on‑the‑job training, and promote a culture of safety, teamwork and accountability.
• Oversee the use of drilling fluids, downhole tools and core recovery equipment; verify drilling logs, depth records and daily reports.
• Inspect equipment, coordinate maintenance and ensure proper sample collection, preservation and documentation.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and end‑of‑project reports and communicate progress and challenges to project managers, geologists and clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Geology is a plus.
• 5–7 years of experience in drilling operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven expertise in diamond core drilling and/or rotary drilling techniques.
• Strong understanding of drilling fluids, downhole tools and geological formations.
• Solid knowledge of HSE practices in drilling operations.
• Fluent in English.
