Power System Studies Manager (EMTP Studies)

About the role

DAR Engineering is seeking a senior professional to lead its Power System Studies section, focusing on electromagnetic transient (EMTP) analyses. The manager will ensure high‑quality, standards‑compliant studies while supporting business development and client engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of EMTP studies for switching surges, insulation coordination, cable energisation, lightning impacts, RTDS testing and related transients.
• Utilise PSCAD, EMTP‑RV, ATP and RSCAD to perform transient simulations and validate methodologies against vendor specifications or field data.
• Plan and track workload, schedule resources, and report progress, budget and invoicing to the Power System Study Manager.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, OEMs, EPCs and utilities to gather data, present results and integrate study outcomes into design deliverables.
• Develop technical proposals, resource estimates and bid documentation in collaboration with the Tender Department.
• Implement quality‑management systems across all study phases and promote knowledge‑sharing of EMTP expertise within the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 13 years of experience in power system transient analysis and EMTP studies.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills for client workshops, technical reviews and cross‑disciplinary coordination.
