Risk Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The client, a multinational consultancy delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects, seeks an experienced Risk Manager to lead risk management activities on civil engineering and transportation works across Saudi Arabia. You will develop and maintain a robust risk framework, ensuring risks are identified, quantified and mitigated throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direction and specialised assistance for risk identification, quantification and mitigation.
• Work closely with project managers to recognise opportunities and minimise risk exposure.
• Assess risks arising from design changes, construction stage variations and schedule slippages.
• Establish and maintain a project risk register that meets project‑specific requirements.
• Prepare and deliver monthly risk reports to the client in line with the PCM contract.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to evaluate mitigation effectiveness and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a cohesive risk‑management approach.
• Engage stakeholders to align expectations and exceed risk‑management objectives.
• Facilitate and chair risk workshops with clients, consultants and contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• More than 15 years of risk‑management experience on mega road/highway projects in KSA.
• Strong knowledge of the Middle‑East design and construction market, contract conditions and contractual issues.
• Solid understanding of construction, design and engineering principles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with risk‑management software for recording and reporting risks.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
