Senior Data Scientist / Senior ML Engineer

About the role

Foodics is looking for a senior‑level professional to lead the design, development, and deployment of machine‑learning and generative‑AI models that power core product features such as pricing, personalization, and fraud detection. You will work closely with data engineers, product managers, and platform teams to deliver production‑grade models that have real business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full ML model lifecycle: problem framing, data exploration, training, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Design and implement scalable solutions using classical ML and GenAI techniques.
• Apply MLOps best practices with tools like MLflow and SageMaker, ensuring versioning, reproducibility, CI/CD, and observability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional squads to guarantee reusability and compliance with internal standards.
• Mentor junior ML engineers and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
• Integrate models with APIs and backend services, adopting a “you build it, you run it” mindset.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in applied machine learning, AI, or data science.
• Strong proficiency in Python and major ML libraries (scikit‑learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, HuggingFace Transformers).
• Experience with MLOps platforms such as MLflow and SageMaker, including model versioning and monitoring.
• Deep understanding of statistical modeling, inference, and appropriate statistical testing.
• Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end model development, feature engineering, hyper‑parameter tuning, and A/B testing.
