Senior Mechanical Utilities Engineer

About the role

Lead mechanical utilities engineering projects from concept through completion, delivering innovative solutions while managing scope, budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering projects within defined budget and schedule, applying strong project management and controls.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines and resource allocation strategies.
• Perform advanced engineering design work, including calculations, specifications and detailed documentation for mechanical utilities systems.
• Gather, correlate and analyze engineering data to inform design decisions and propose innovative approaches.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, local building codes) and conduct quality assurance reviews.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and project management teams to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Mentor entry‑level engineers and recommend process improvements for mechanical utility systems.
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10‑15 years of professional experience in mechanical utilities design and engineering.
• Proven ability to independently execute complex design projects from conception to completion.
• Extensive experience with Project Management Controls, budgeting and scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
