Technical Operations Manager, Audit – Third Party Data Centers

About the role

Google’s Data Center team designs and operates some of the world’s most advanced electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems. As a Technical Operations Manager, Audit – Third Party Data Centers, you will lead compliance audits, operational assessments and risk analyses across colocation facilities, partnering with engineering, hardware operations and third‑party vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site compliance audits of electrical, cooling and IT infrastructure at third‑party data centers.
• Inspect, maintain and repair data‑center systems, reading blueprints and schematics.
• Develop and implement cost‑reduction strategies while improving overall efficiency.
• Ensure environmental and safety standards are consistently met.
• Manage performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time.
• Forecast resource requirements using data‑driven methods.
• Partner with Google engineering, network, and hardware teams to align operational standards.
• Travel up to 50% of the time to regional colocation sites.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical/HVAC, or controls within an industrial or commercial environment.
• Proven experience conducting compliance audits.
• Ability to work non‑standard hours and shift rotations.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and prior data‑center operations experience.
