Traffic Engineer

About the role

IC İçtaş Construction is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to support a major road project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering traffic engineering designs, impact assessments, and management plans that meet international standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review traffic engineering designs, traffic management plans, and temporary traffic control schemes for highway and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct traffic impact studies, traffic modeling, capacity analysis, and junction performance assessments.
• Design and coordinate road signing, pavement markings, wayfinding systems, and traffic control devices.
• Prepare traffic diversions, detour plans, work‑zone traffic management plans, and construction staging proposals.
• Collaborate with geometric, civil, structural, and transportation disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, client requirements, and international traffic engineering standards.
• Participate in road safety audits, hazard identification studies, and value‑engineering workshops.
• Provide technical support during construction and monitor compliance with approved traffic management plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or highway infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Previous experience on projects in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with traffic engineering software such as SIDRA, VISSIM, SYNCHRO, AutoTURN, and Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of international standards and guidelines (AASHTO, MUTCD, DMRB) and relevant local regulations.
• Experience conducting traffic impact assessments, junction analysis, and road safety studies.
