Business Unit Manager – Poultry

About the role

MSD is looking for a Business Unit Manager for its poultry business unit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for achieving financial, strategic, operational and human resources priorities, developing the business at country level and building a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the business at country level with key strategic customers, the country operations team and the Country Manager, and build strong collaborative account plans.
• Implement pricing and promotional strategies and contribute to central discussions.
• Build a high-performing team, develop people and identify talent.
• Maintain regular contact with key customers, distributors and key opinion leaders and promote customer loyalty.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, in-market sales and the marketing plan, and track ongoing projects against schedule and budget.
• Develop and implement the sales strategic plan and follow technical and marketing plans to meet sales objectives.
• Establish Saudi in-market goals, measure performance and coordinate with regional and internal departments.
• Upskill distributors' teams, identify business development opportunities and highlight contract leads.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or university degree with relevant experience (veterinary, science, medicine, etc.).
• At least 8 years of field sales experience, preferably in animal health or a related industry.
• Experience leading and managing a large, multi-layered team.
• Fluent in Arabic and English; a valid driving licence is required.
• Willingness to travel about 30% to 40% within the market.
