Cost Control & Analysis Manager

About the role

The Cost Control & Analysis Manager safeguards transportation margins by delivering accurate job costing, billing readiness, forecasts and profitability insights. This role partners with Operations, Commercial, Procurement and Finance to drive cost improvement and support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Validate customer and supplier rates against contracts, flagging deviations and margin risks.
• Own job‑cost completeness by shipment, job and material, including accruals and cost allocation.
• Coordinate timely customer billing and supplier invoice capture, resolving workflow exceptions.
• Perform job‑level ERP/TMS reconciliations and support accurate month‑end close.
• Build budgets, forecasts and scenario models; explain rate, volume, mix and productivity variances.
• Analyse CM1, GP and operating performance by customer, lane, shipment, product and vendor.
• Lead profitability reviews, corrective actions, savings initiatives and benefit‑realisation tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• More than 5 years of cost‑control, FP&A or management‑accounting experience in logistics or transport.
• CMA, ACCA, CIMA or an analytics qualification is preferred.

• SQL and data‑modeling/analytics capability.
• Forecasting, scenario modelling and management‑reporting skills.
