Hydraulic Technician

About the role

The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems and equipment. The role ensures systems operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with technical specifications and safety standards. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain and repair hydraulic systems and components
• Troubleshoot system faults and carry out corrective actions
• Carry out testing, commissioning and preventive maintenance
• Support construction and shutdown activities as required
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Complete maintenance and service documentation

Required profile

• Technical diploma or vocational certification in hydraulics, mechanics or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial, oil and gas or construction environments
• Knowledge of hydraulic safety practices and safe work procedures
• Familiarity with industrial HSE requirements and permit-to-work systems

• Hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders and actuators
• Hydraulic power units (HPU)
• Hydraulic systems used in heavy equipment and industrial plants
• Pressure testing, flushing and system commissioning
• Reading hydraulic schematics, drawings and manuals
