Shipping Coordinator (Analyst I) – Logistics

About the role

The Shipping Coordinator (Analyst I) will manage inbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with international trade regulations. You will act as the primary logistics liaison between suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and monitor inbound air, ocean, and courier shipments.
• Coordinate pickup dates, shipping documents, and routing guide compliance with suppliers.
• Track shipments in transit, identify delays, and implement recovery actions.
• Prepare and manage import/export documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Serve as the main contact for suppliers on logistics execution and evaluate carrier performance.
• Resolve discrepancies, damages, or short shipments with carriers and suppliers.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams on dock scheduling and receiving capacity.
• Ensure compliance with customs, tariffs, and denied‑party screening.
• Work with customs brokers to classify products (HS codes) and clear shipments.
• Analyze freight spend, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and report key performance indicators.
• Manage claims for lost or damaged freight and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply‑chain operations focused on inbound movements.
• Experience with international shipping (import/export) and domestic LTL/FTL.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making under pressure, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail, organizational ability, and capacity to work independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020.
• Familiarity with customs documentation and hazardous‑materials (hazmat) regulations.
