Director of MRO Operations

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Director of MRO Operations to lead the launch and ramp‑up of a new aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Saudi Arabia. The role combines strategic planning, hands‑on execution and regulatory oversight to deliver a world‑class maintenance hub from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, set up and commission the new MRO site, including infrastructure, tooling, systems and staffing.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and project teams to ensure timely, compliant delivery.
• Develop operational policies, procedures and workflows from scratch.
• Recruit, train and onboard operational staff and technicians.
• Secure certifications and approvals from GACA, EASA and FAA.
• Oversee procurement and installation of ERP/MRO systems.
• Manage day‑to‑day maintenance, logistics, quality and safety operations.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma, KPI tracking and digital transformation.
• Maintain client relationships and support business development.
• Monitor financial performance and optimise resource utilisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of aerospace MRO experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in greenfield or brownfield site start‑ups.
• Strong knowledge of GACA, EASA and FAA certification processes.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma or equivalent process‑improvement certification.
• Excellent project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
